What are you guys experiences with the Con o and the Con fe?

I am on the fence and was wondering who is using what ,and how the two compared. Im not too nervous about clutch feel myself. I do tow trailers around and will need some slipage to get it backed up from time to time.

suggestions?

currently have about 350 HP, will have 100 more soon.

I've had my South Bend in for a while I seen there ad were they say no chatter, stock feel yadda, yadda. I put it in at first it slipped alittle I called them they said run it to get it to seat I did & it's been grabbing good since but boy does it chatter I have to use

1st gear all the time, take off from an idle,When I called them

about this he said what do you expect? It's heavy duty I got the brass puck style.

So it grabs & holds good but for trailers you need to get a 4 wheel low kit or it'll rattle your fillings.

I was right where you are two months ago and after discussing this with Peter and others I went with the MU 0090 Con. O and it work really well. I had the MU 0087 Con. B before and it didn't slip but the chatter was really bad. Backing my TT was terrible. The MU 0090 Con. O has held everything I can give it. :D :D

Peter and South Bend has a real winner here!!!!

sewman,

Sorry about the chatter that you are having. We originally used the button clutch because we thought that is what was needed to hold the HP. Since then we have come up with a much nicer operating clutch for the HP. We thought that we had retrieved most of the button clutches that we had sold but obviously you still have one. If you don't mind the labor I would like to send you another clutch to replace that one at no charge. I think that you will be much happier with the MU 0090 Con O.

Please give me a call at 1-800-988-4345 and ask for me.

Peter

I have the Con FE clutch in my ETH, have about 6000 miles on it by now. I don't tow or haul (only haul butt :D). Pedal feels identical to stock. I have a little bit of chatter if starting out in 2nd without giving it any extra throttle, but as you can understand, that's to be expected with a high horsepower clutch that holds very well. I either start in 1st, or give it a couple extra hundred RPM when starting in 2nd. I hot rod ocassionally, and drag raced Godzilla for the first time this past Saturday, and have never felt any slippage as yet.

Once again, My sincerest thanks to Peter, South Bend Clutch and Blair Pine who got me setup with this great clutch!!
