I finally got the southbend installed this afternoon.

It was a real piece of cake...

Used a porta-power and the crossmember came right out.

Got the flywheel turned and machined for the Kevlar pilot bushing.

Transmission rebuilt and it feels like brand new. Thanks Standard Trans!

Got it all back together and I feel good knowing exactly what I did and I know no-one has skipped any steps or made any mistakes in the installation.

I dont have the high HP levels some guys have but I had enough to make my stock clutch slip... . this new clutch is holding the power.

Still too early to tell how it will be in the long run, but it feels like stock and is real smooth. Towing a Camaro to Oklahoma City tomorrow, that should give me some more data.

So far, So Good!!!

its seems to me

that SBC is the DTT for the manuel crowd :)

Keep up the good work Peter!

I've seen -MikeR put your clutch to test on several occasions ;)

I put the South Bend con 0 in my rig, one day later pulled a 31' 5er through the MT mountains on a 500 mile trip. Have made several trips since and will be making a 5000 miler starting Monday. Haven't had a clutch slip yet, didn't worry about any break-in, and until someone actually shifts this thing, they can't believe it is as light or lighter pedaled than stock but still able to hold up to 450 hp. :D Money very well spent!

Yeah I was thinking I had a problem when I installed the clutch.

Before we installed the transfer case and driveshafts I had a friend make sure my slave cylinder was working properly by turning the transmission output shaft while I held the clutch in.

The pedal was sooo light I thought there was sometime wrong.

I was surprised at the light feel to say the least.

I lifted my foot off the clutch pedal and have lock-up just off the floor.

It was perfect.

Last night I got to play with it a little more and can say it is holding very well. I got a third and was not even trying.

The stocker used to slip in 3rd but I was not able to tell to what degree until this new clutch.

So far So good
