Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) southbend ofe special on the way

Well I could not hold out any longer with the stock clutch so yesterday I called Peter and ordered the OFE with the upgraded lining. It will go in over easter. After its in I can start using the power I have.

That Peter is a heck of a guy! My OFE didn't hold up to my power, and was the cause of the "chatter" under hard accelleration. Peter replaced it with a OFE "Special" like you are getting, No Charge! It has held up well so far. Although I wonder if the different lining has caused the noticable "engage/jerk" when taking off? Anyway, other than that, this one holds and I'm not complaining. Good luck with your new clutch, you'll like it. I almost wish that I had gone with the FE, but didn't since I pull trailers... . LOTS of weight.

Hey guys, I'm starting with you becasuse this is the most recent post I can find about this.



I'm looking for clutch prices on these clutches, but can't find them on Southbends site. Any suggestions? My clutch is still 100%, but its at the dealership with 28k on it with the motor pulled, and the dealership offered a suggestion (I mentioned that I thought the throwout bearing may be going bad) that they could put in a new or upgraded clutch with out any cost (labor) I'd only have to pay for the components. I'm just trying to find out (quickly) how much money these clutches go for...

I got mine from Peter at Soutbend for 850 or 950 i cant remember. Some venders will take off 10% sometimes but then again i dont know if they cary the OFE special. Good luck
