Fast Specialties Dyno Day, Vancouver WA

Idaho Dyno Days May 13 And 14

Heading back to Twin Falls / Pocatello are in June.

Bringing my 5th wheel and dirt bikes and fishing poles.

Anyone have an off the beaten path camp site that is conducive to both the bikes and fishing poles where I can get a 30 ft 5th wheel into??

Thanks

If you want to go way back in the 'toolies, go to Yellow Pine (north of boise, east of Cascade). Pack the fishing poles and ride back to Riordan Lake and catch some trout. Fish & Game stocks by it by airplane.

You could camp around Boise, then day trip to wherever you want. Go to Idaho city to ride, pick a river or reservoir and go fish. There are a few campgrounds around Idaho city and there are MILES of trails to ride. Not much for fishing though. South of Boise around Murphy there are a bunch of trails to ride too, or you could fish on the snake river.

Bring a big fishing pole and see if you can land a sturgeon over by Twin Falls or CJ Strike on the Snake River.

can I get my 30ft fth wheel back into yellow pine ?

Are there camp sites along the way ?

That does sound like a great place to stay a few days.

Thanks

You should have no problem getting a 30' into Yellow Pine. Been a few years since I was there but there were small campgrounds along the south fork of the Salmon river in addition to a great one at Warm Lake (commercial though) I spent 10 yrs working at various mines 25-50 miles past Yellow Pine. Would someday like to go back into that country... lots of game animals and fishing was great!

Yes!

The south fork road is PAVED (one lane with turn-outs), and only turns to dirt where you have to turn on to another road to get to Yellow Pine. There are places to camp (non-campground) and there are a few campgrounds along the south fork as well. There are some other campgrounds just to the south of Yellow Pine along Johnston creek. My favorite is Ice Hole - but you may have issues getting a 5th wheel in there (although I have seen big RV's there before).

If you want to go to Warm Lake or any other campground by Cascade/McCall, you will need to make a reservation somewhere on-line (like http://www.reserveusa.com/). There are a few spots that are not reservable, but good luck getting one. Not much for riding in these campgrounds though.

Grunt - my buddy (Huskerman) used to do some work at Stibnite and Thunder Mtn. Small world...

Dave your tips are the best.

Lake Alturas was awesome last years so I am guessing Petit lake is only a few miles down the road from there ?

Going to spend 5 days around that area this time so I might do alturas petit and sawtooth lakes.

Keep the info coming if you think of another spot we should see while we are in Idaho.

Do you know anything about Fairfield ??.

I am told there is some good trail riding and fishing at a place called skeleton creek west of fairfield. .

Thaks wurty

ya, featherville and pine are kinda north of fairfield. they are at anderson reservoir. never heard of skeleton creek. in between pine and featherville there are some hot springs. lots of river and reservoir fishing. lots of riding.
