Big D Dodge Diesel Club Meeting 4-10-2004

Dallas Duramax get together 5-1-04

When and where?

What part of Mississippi are we looking at? We would be coming from central La. Maybe this will spark some interest in some group activities. Keep us posted and will try to make it.

I'm pretty sure I could get 3atatime to come down from Starkville if we have a camp out as well. It just depends on the weekend and her work schedule. The Tunica Hills has some awesome scenery and I'm sure there are some good camping areas up there. St. Francisville is somewhat lacking for camping, and all of the good areas are farther north into Mississippi. I think the spring time would be better probably.

Let's plan it for some time after April. Usually April is when i'ts starting to warm up a bit so we don't ahve to freeze our cajones off when we're in a tent.

This sounds interesting! I'd like to try to make it. Does anyone know of a campground in the Homochita National Forest called Clear Springs somewhere near Meadville? I know they were building a new campground with a large lake when we went there about 4 years ago. The old Clear Springs goes back to the 1930s and has only 22 sites, but this one is HUGE! Judging from everyone's location, it might be a good central location.

Thanks for the link, FD5, but that's the old site. I have looked for info on the new campgrounds, either in Bude or Meadville, and cannot find anything.

Camping Mississippi

Include Bonita and I if I am home. The Clear Springs area is one of our favorites, it is a federal C/G has always been very clean. It is a small camp ground though with only 22 sites, so we will need to get the date down and make our reservations if they still accept them as they used to do. The new Camp ground is still a few years away from completion, lots of problems with the dam @ present, will probably end up in court. We have not had anything in the paper as of late to indicate that there is a date set as of yet for the c/g to open. There are cg's in the Natchez area and all around, but the Clearn Springs is the one we know. Last weekend in April will not work for me @ present schedule.
