Finally!! Biodiesel near Cheyenne, WY!

Has anyone found any sources to buy soybean oil or any other plant oils to use to make biodiesel out of? I would prefer to use something other than used veggie oil if possible.

TIA

Nathan

Did find a place called Alibaba Manufacturing Direct that has several foreign sources but still not much luck for any national or local sources yet.

"Alibaba and the Forty Thieves?" :-laf

I can buy food-grade soybean oil from Smart & Final for about $2. 99 a gallon in a 4. 25 gallon plastic "bottle". I would think that food-grade would be more expensive than just old bulk soybean oil, and then there is the cost of the bottle. There MUST be someone who knows where a big storage tank of soybean oil is... just waiting for us to back up to it!!

Has anyone tried or thought of a wholesale food supply house? Net search?

Stakeout the local chinese food place until they get a delivery?:laf:

Oil

I don't really understand your concern with using use oil, it works very well and cuts the total cost several $. I have made several 100 gals and it works great. As for usin soybean oil I wouldn't recommend it unless you live in a warm area in the winter. Soy made bio will jell at a warmer temp then peanut, corn, or canola.

It's not really a concern, I'd call it more of a personal preference to support farmers rather than McDonalds or whoever the used oil comes from.

I am well aware of the effects of being in a cooler climate and gelling. I was planning to run a blend of 80% #2 and 20% Plant Oil for awhile until the fuel system cleans up. Then increase the Plant Oil % as time goes by.

I don't enjoy the thought of sucking up to restaraunts for their oil, then "making my rounds" every week or so to collect it.

I'd much rather pay the premium and have a couple 55 gallon drums dropped off at my house :)

With the proper processing, animal fats can be converted.

A lot of that byproduct is consumed in animal feeds, but could also be converted for fuels.

lipo... ... hmmmmmmmm fat liberals, that is what we need to render.

They say that you can make biodiesel for around . 70 a gallon if the oil is free. What you need to find is non food grade quality veggie oil.

Maybe we could convert Illegal Aliens into diesel fuel! We'd just lipo-suction them as they come across the border!

Getting a little racial arn't we? How about blacks? Think they'd make good fuel? How 'bout Rush Limbaugh? I'm sure we could render a lot of fuel out of that fat piece of sh#t :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf
