Just a heads up on something I ran into.

On a SPA EGT/BOOST dual gauge harness the cannon plugs are identical except one of the male pins is in a different slot, this is the way it is suppose to be.

Well after spending a bunch of time trying to figure out why the boost wasn't working I find that the gauges main harness cannon plug for the boost side has the male pin in the "same" slot that the EGT cannon plug does.

So what this means is that male pin doesn't match up with the female on the transducer.

Has anyone taken apart one of the cannon plugs? I would much rather swap the pin to the correct location than change out the entire harness. Geeze! :(

If you are talking about the plug that goes to the boost sensor that is elbow shaped then yes I have taken it apart. Had to get through the firewall without drilling a rather large hole in the firewall. It comes apart relativley easily. Just be sure and take note before dissassambly which wires are in which slot. I thought I could remember since there is only three but noooo. I had to forget or just plain put it together wrong. I had to take the process of elimination route to get it right. 4 slots, 3 wires adds up to quite a few combos took me about 6 tries to get it right. After rereading your post and realizing that SPA changed connector types after I bought my original ones I now think you are talking about the newer style of round plugs and I have not taken one of those apart and not sure how you could. So I am of absolutely no help. However the newer style is much superior to the original style plugs they used. You could try calling SPA and ask them.

Hey Barry,

They will send me another harness, its just a PITA to change out the whole thing now that I got it all routed and bundled, gauge mounted and such.

And yes it is the new "cannon" style plug right where the transducer connects.
