How is everyone getting the boost sensor connector through the firewall?

Where are you mounting the thermocouple module?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Go through the wiring grommet that runs from the cab into the firewall. It's the big bundle of wires on the firewall down from the master cylinder. Feel with your fingers first and see where you will have room. There was plenty of clearance on the top side of that big rubber seal on mine. I made a hole and then put a tapered ream through the hole to expand it. I thought about it and put the hole on top of the grommet so I could get to it easily. Then just force the end through. I put silicon on the hole after the operation was complete to seal. One other hint... put a light grease on the boost sensor pins before attaching the connector to keep moisture out. Also, make sure you know the pin orientation before putting the connector on or you'll be looking for a fuse. There should be a white mark on the sensor and one on the connector for allignment.

On the thermocouple module..... I used velcro and and attached it to that big aluminum plate where the steering wheel goes through the firewall (inside the cab). That keeps the connectors safe and with the strengthening ribs on that plate, you can't inadvertently hit it with you shoes.

I ran the thermocouple wiring across the firewall by attaching to the existing loom with cable ties and hiding it behind the big rubber hood seal.

take the boost sensor elbow apart, its inevitable you will sometime soon anyway, so just do it on the install and use the parking brake cable grommet, perfect plave to mount the black box, ps use duck butter instead of grease, it dries cleaner, I have put in about 18 spa's so far, the installations are really easy, take your time on the first one

Brandon, How did you get the 90 degree connector apart? When I pulled the nut off I couldn't go any further (I didn't think) without removing the wires. That's why I went through the big grommet.

Alan, I just took my 90 degree elbow apart tonight. I had the same concern and a quick call to Brandon solved the mystery. Remove the nut on the back of the elbow and then gently push down on the retainer at the top of the elbow(you will see a plastic piece with a slot on it, I pushed on the outside edge of that retainer). This will allow you access to the three wires that connect to the female interface. The wires are held in place by 3 small screws. Before you remove them, draw yourself a diagram buy looking at the front of the interface(the part that plugs into the SPA coupler) . You will see numbers on that part, just write down which wire corresponds to the number beside it. Then remove the set screws and the wires will pull free. You can then pull the wire harness from the elbow. There, wasn't that easy #ad
. If you need more description or would like me to walk you through this, send me an e-mail with your phone number and I'll give you a call.

Dang. Where were you guys when I was fishing that monster connector through the firewall #ad
. I got it through though. I'll forgive you this time. BTW. With the extra room I had in the hole, I fished my CB coax through there, ran it under the plastic around the shifter and now I'm in bidness. Later, ya'll. Next time I help someone with the SPAs, I'll try this tip.

Hey guys I use a pin extractor and remove the pins from the back of the plug where it plugs into the gauge. Then you can put all the wires through a very small grommet and all looks good, the only problem is the extractor is hard to find. I have been trying to get SPA to send them with the wires disconnected from the plug but they don't seem to want to. I install allot of these gauges an it sure would be nice.
