I am in the works of putting a flatbed on my truck and am wondering what is a safe amount of spacing between top of tire and bottom of flatbed? I am not wanting them to be rubbing at all and need some thoughts, measurements, etc... I know of one 3/4 ton flatbed around my town that I can get a measurement off of, but would like some other opinions, TIA. Jason

Measure the distance between the top of your axle and bump stop on the frame. Add a couple of inches to that to allow for flex.

Brad is right on the money. That is exactly what I did when I installed my flatbed about 5 years ago and all has been well. What brand flatbed are you thinking of getting?

Thanks for your answers, I am putting on what looks to be a custom flatbed. Its is 9'X7' with a wood deck, this has been laying around on a ranch for some time. Yesterday I took a sandblaster to it and cleaned it up, primed it, put some linseed oil on the wood. It looks like it is going to look (. )(. ) once it is mounted, hopefully within a week. Thanks, Jason
