Spare Door Key

Anyone know how or it's possible that I might get a key without the chip in it for unlocking the door only. I'd like to hide a spare on my truck in the rare event my ignition keys get inadvertently locked in the cab.

Lowes did mine. Use the key in the fob. Works great.

You should be able to get an unchipped key at any locksmith or maybe even Walmart. You also can buy a chipped key on ebay for less than $20.00 and program it yourself if you have two working keys. It won't have the remote feature but if you are going to carry a spare in your pocket may as well be a working key. (My truck is 06, I'm not familiar with what the newer trucks use) bg

Damn me learn something new from you ole farts.:-laf uh wait I is one of dem ole farts. Me son got him a 2017 Ram and after driving it some mmmmmmm well it got me to thinking. Maybe I best get me one of them trucks fore it come by time to be put in the box in the ground. I hears from one fellow that work at a dealership that they going to have another Ram month in August. My son ordered his and got it a couple of weeks ago and he got the ram box no charge. So I wait till August and see what they got going.
