Anybody have a source to buy replacement spare tire tools from? I need the tools to lower the spare. I don't need a jack or lug wrench, just the bars to lower them.

Thanks,

nate

Nate,

The following three components fit together to crank the spare tire up and down. The "Tool, Wrench" supplied by Dodge doubles as a lug wrench and the crank handle. If what you already have has a square hold in the middle, then you likely already have the correct one.

52020339AA, Tool, Wrench, $23. 00

52020337AA, Extension, Jack Handle, $21. 25

52020330AC, Driver, Jack Handle, $18. 69

Prices are from Mopar Parts America.

Best regards,

John L.

what i have is a 4-way.

I'm going to a u-pull-it yard tomorrow to look for a grill. I'll look for the tools while I'm there.

If youre handy it is easy to make the tools. I made a set to work with my 18v cordless drill that lives in the truck. :D

I'm actually leaning toward that way anyway. It just occured to me that I have access to 3 nice shops right here at the HS and I might as well save a bunch of money... ... . if not on car insurance then on tire tools ;)

Lean harder. The pick & pull didn't have a usable grill and every second gen's tools were gone. Shouldn't be that hard a job to make one.

The socket for the tool will fit a standard hex bolt (I think it needs to be 1/2" or 9/16" across the flats) making it a 5/16 or 3/8" bolt. Just weld it to a pipe or rod, make it long enough to clear the bumper, and weld a old lug nut on the other end, that way you can use your lug wrench to turn it.

A standard 7/16" bolt will have a 5/8" hex head. Use a 7/16" bolt 2-3" long. Double nut the threads so you have something to turn it with and use it with a ratchet, impact wrench, 4 way, etc.

Exactly what I did! Mostly because the local dealer said the tools coul dno longer be had. Not much welding practice in it, but any metal burning for me is a plus.

I found an old speed wrench handle from a travel trailer and welded a bolt onto the end. Works fine. I have yet to see one of these trucks with all the tools in it. Either they get stolen a lot, or people throw them in the ditch after they break them...
