Has anybody seen the new Superlift 5" 3/4 ton lift kit up close and personal? The description at http://www.superlift.com/new.htm mentions greasable upper and lower control arms... Wonder how it compares to the Skyjacker kit (quality and price and installation)

Thanks, Galen

sore subject?

No replies?:( How about those of you with lift kits over 3"? Anything good or bad about your system would be appreciated and helpful in my decision...

Thanks, Galen :)

Most commonly used lift is the SkyJacker 4. 5" lift. There is just not that many options out there for the "diesels" in regards to lift kits. I would like to hear or see more on the SuperLift as well.

Love my skyjacker lift kit. It also has grease zirks on all ends of arms. You can also get single or double heim joints. Me and my budy put it on in one sunday. Check my website out.

Love my Skyjacker

I have a Skyjacker 4. 5" kit and just put my first 4,500 miles on it over the past month. My kit is stage II (dual front shocks) but does not have the heim joints. My installer said to save my money unless I wanted to rock crawl, and that the base kit would give me enough articulation for the general off-road and mud I would likely see.

I haven't had it off road yet, but the lift seems to clear my 36" Swampers, and it drives beautifully on road. (although the Swampers make it sound like there's a B-17 bomber flying about 50 feet overhead... ) No pull on flat roads, and a slight pull to right or left if there's a crown. The mechanics who did my vehicle inspection and my first oil change both pulled me over to comment that the lift looked well engineered, safe, and properly installed. That said, I have a 4" Superlift kit on my 1972 CJ-5. I'm pleased with it and suspect that Superlift's kit will be good for our trucks as well. If you have questions about their engineering or what the kit includes, I'd start by calling or emailing Superlift.

Good luck!

SkyJacker!!

SkyJacker all the way it's the best buy far!! Buy

the 4. 5 class II it's worth the money then weld it into place! Welding it makes a world of differance in the way the truck will drive and handle! I will put SkyJacker on my Next Ram as soon as they come out!!!:D :D

Thanks for the 411

Thanks for the replies, this info is invaluable for making these large $$$ decisions!

GotDodge, Expat & Adam- do any of you have the single or double Flex series? why or why not?

I was told 3rd or 4th hand that the heim joints made the suspension smoother because of the lower friction... BS?

I thought about the Dick Cepek 6" lift for a while, even made enough phone calls to track down all the pieces to make up a complete kit, but it was just to big a hassle, especially since I'd have to get a custom made trac bar and pitman arm to boot. So I got the Skyjacker 4. 5" Class II, Single Flex kit with the dual front shocks and replacement rear springs. I didn't get the double flex kit with the heim joints because I just didn't need that much suspension travel. The control arms that come with the Single Flex kit are greasable at both ends and all together, the system rides smoother than the stock suspension. I suppose an argument could be made to less friction with the heim joints, but I think the main purpose it to prevent binding/twisting at the extremes of suspension travel. Personally, I don't think these trucks would make the best rock crawlers. It took me one 10 hour session to put the front parts on and another 4 hour session to do the back doing the work alone. The directions were clear and the parts fit well. In short, I love it!!

Skyjacker is pullin ahead...

Kurt, thanks for the lowdown. I thought the single flex had a heim on one end, and the double had heims at both ends... so much for 4th hand info!

ROCK CRAWLER?!?! Need to get rid of about 60" of wheelbase and A LOT of overhang, but that's why I got my Willys (another project!)

Next issue-- lift first then BOMB, or vice versa?
