I have not used them in my cummins yet. I did use both the stage 2 and stage 3 in my supercharged Mustang with 0 problems. I know this doesn't answer your question. I just wanted to give my 2 cents worth on what I thought. EXCELLANT quality.

A member on here, Partsman, deals with Spec Clutch and I was considering buying one before I sold my truck. From everything that I have heard, they are a very tough clutch and nobody compares to the price. The only complaint that I have heard of them is that they are a touch grabby, but you get used to that soon.

I Bought A Spec Clutch It Is A 6 Button Carbon Kevlar . So Far So Good . Luk & South Bend Would Be A Good Choice In A 13" To . I Decided On This Clutch Do To The Fact That There Is No One On Tdr That Had Used One And I Thought That Some One Should Test It Out . this Clutch Is Rated For 1000 Ft. Pounds Tq. Luk Now Has A Duel Friction 13 ' Out . And South Bend Seems To Be Well Proven . Hope This Helps . Mjs

OK Testing is complete 6 months and the center of this clutch is destroyed and this is with the little p pump . Next test i will order the disk in a stage 4 solid center disk hub . Not to say that this is a bad clutch it just can't hold up to a CTD . Time will tell . MJS

thanks for playing guniea pig. im sure someone out here will appriciate the risk involved. i cant see myself experimenting but im glad others have.

I think I'll stick with South Bend- proven products, great customer service, & a solid supporter of the TDR.

Your rite about support . You would think these guys would want to see what had gone wrong . Thats why south bend no longer sell a high hp sprung 12" . "Because it won't hold up". Next thing to I'm a repair shop plus with the failure and they want to charge list for a replacement ! This turns me off. If i sold this to a customer i would have sold it for whole sale or even cost . This is the whole reason why south bend is one of the best. Mike

Not to scare you but I would advise against the solid hub disc for a couple of reasons.

1. ware to the input shaft spline

2. possible input shaft breakage do to it being 1 1/4"

3. long term damage to the transmission do to the lack of absorbtion needed for the spiking of the engine

4. noise that will be created

5. drivability issues

Yes, we do sell our DD clutches with solid hubs, only because we have to. (clearance issues) But, we require the 1 3/8" input shaft upgrade. Also, I only recommend this setup for the people that have exceeded what I can make a single disc clutch hold or they are going to be doing extreme competition/work loads.

Good luck, hope everything works out for you.
