Hey there So Cal TDR guy:

I'm just north of you, east of Temecula (Anza, CA). Good to see SD county represented here - don't usually see that. I grew up in the SD area, El Cajon / La Mesa.

Anyhow, if your 99 is like my 97, you basically pull out the cupholder, find & remove two screws, pull it out, grab the bezel on top, and pull firmly, the clips will release, then grab on sides, do the same, then reach behind and unscrew or unplug the lighter & power sockets. Bingo, you're done !

Not hard really - just go careful so you don't break anything.....

Take Care, David B.

Don't know about the '97 or the '99 but my ashtray has to be removed, too. Just like the cup holder.

I have a 99 also, no tools needed no screws- just get your finger nails under the edge of the bezel and pull. it is held on only by spring clips and once you get it started it will pop right off. If you have an automatic you will need to put the shift lever in 1st or 2nd gear and tilt the column down a bit to remove the bezel. I've had mine off many times it's easy, just dont get to ruff on it after all it is plastic.

After the bezel is off the radio screws will be looking right at you.

As for the doors, take off the inside release lever ( 8 or 10mm bolt) and 2 philips screws in the door pull pocket then the philips screw in the top front corner. Next slip a flat blade screw driver under the bottom corner of the door panel and gently pry the plastic christmas tree connectors loose, about a dozen or so. Then reach behind the door panel to disconnect the wiring harness connectors and it's off. You will have to lift slightly to un hook the top of the panel.

Good luck!

pull down the cupholder and grab underneath. and just tug quickly. . kinda grip and rip. dont pull too hard but it pops out.

After the bezel has been off and on a few times does it start squeaking or make other irritating noises? I've got a speedo full of bugs & dust that need to come out. So far the old 99' is squeak free... ... .

Hey Jeff

Does your truck have the infinity sereo system, if so I would be interested in the front speakers if you are going to replace them,,,,, if they are still good

I have one that quit working and would like to go back with a factory speaker. Have heared to many cons about replacing with aftermarket ones and still run the factory head unit. My infinity speakers have the amp mounted on the back of the speaker itself. .

WPERRY,

They do work and you can have 'em for the cost of shipping. I need to ship a couple other items here in the near future so send me your info and I'll try not to forget to box 'em up. Just please be aware that going to the post office or UPS is a classic item for procrastination for me... ... but if you're a patient man, they're yours.
