Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Speed Difference Changing tire sizes?

I currently have LT245/75 Michelin tires on my truck and was wondering if I upgraded to a LT265/75 would it make any difference in performance?



Recently I roasted the rear tires playing around with my new ATS transmission, and Edge Comp

It seems like the current tires spin too much on take off.

Any respsonses appreciated!

You will get better fuel milage, a lower RPM crusing speed, but your speedo will be off a little. I went from 265's to 315's and my speedo was off by 7mph, I had it recalibrated and now it's right-on, proof with GPS. With an auto your still gonna' spin the tires tho.

Like Rob, I went from 265's to 315's and checked with my GPS and milage is off 13% at all speeds.
