Well: For my . 02 cents worth I'v been getting 18. 4-19-1 mpg empty with 14. 3 on the average towing. Well I had some work done and add 300 injectors. Checked my milege last night and it was 21. 1 mpg. Thats running 75 to work and back in fifth-over. Thats at 1850 rpm. You think I'm lieing. I might be but that's what the calculator and pump came to. Yeh I'm supprised and delited. I think the trick to the power increase and milege is the tuning of the two.
They have to work together.
Cheers.

This got me thinking... . Turbo Thom ,what was your boost reading while running 75 at 1850 RPM?? Also what size tires, and is this actual speed or indicated speed ( same ? )?
Here is my wild thought. Mileage is directly related to boost. The higher the boost the lower the mileage.
On my 97 auto, 3. 54 gears. I have larger tires so this is indicated speed, not actual. When running 70mph I am at 2000RPM, and about 8# boost. Flat level ground. At 60mph, 1750rpm and 4# boost. 65mph, 6# boost, and guessing maybe 1825rpm. If I try and run 75 indicated, I am over 2000rpm and probably 10# plus boost. No way I get 21. 1. However if I run 60 at #4 boost I can get my best ever 21. 5.
So I guess what I was trying to lead up to is a case study where we all drive on flat level ground on freeway, for X miles, at 4# of boost. Then compare to see if we get similar mileage. For some this may be 60 for others 75, the point is not consistent speed, but consistent boost readings.
For those of us in Hilly areas this will be impossible. As I have hills everywhere. And each time I hit a hill holding 60-70 seems to take 10# boost. Which of course lowers mileage. But then we know the flatlanders get better mileage. Here's why???
So too many martini's for lunch or what?

They have to work together.
