Hi out there,
I plan on a axle gear change from the 3. 55 to the 4. 10 gear. I mostly tow my r. v. when I use the truck as I am a full timer. My truck; 2001 dodge cummins, two wheel drive auto transmission quad cab long bed with 265/75r/16 tires. The Computer was reflashed to provide better torque management of the engine when in overdrive when the truck was new. It has 33,000 miles on it now.
The truck is stock and has a GCWR of 16,000 lbs. With the axle as a 4. 10 my GCWR will change to 18,000 lbs. As I plan on a little larger towable trailer and the new rateing will help a lot. I know my r. p. m. 's will be higher but maybe that's not such a bad thing when towing the trailer.
O. K. , Time for the question. Will the speed sensor have to be changed and or will the computer have to be reflashed also.
Thank's for the time,
Al,
