i called a dealer in tempe az today. they are trying to this right now and have no luck. they told me to call back in a month and maybe diamler will have a code to enter. good luck. lets us know if you find anything out.

This may not be much help. When I went to 265 up from 245 on my Ram I watched the mile markers and concluded that because my odometer showed 96 miles when I had gone 100 that I was now 4% off. When I calculate fuel milage I add 4% to the milage and think I am close to correct. I did watch mile markers on different stretches of highway in different states. I would have to say they do a good job of spacing the markers correctly. A 2 mile difference in 50 miles would still be 4% if you can't go the 100.

Does anyone know how to do a speedo correction for larger tyres on the 2006 dodge ram ctd

thanks in anticipation

Right now D/C only allows stock combinations on the 06. If you can pick a gear/tire combination that is the same overall as you need you will be set

You can also divide the stock tire height by the new and use that % to correct.

From what I've read, but don't know for a fact, that after market power uploaders that can also read and clear codes, some can be used to correct for the tire size.

Some on the board probably know for sure. . probably also based in year/generation.

got speedo corrected at dealer today and cost $54. 00. on my invoice it reads "cs recalibrate speedo c 1. 0 hr recalibrate speedo with star scan. is not completely accurate. tire size on vehicle is larger than avalible tire size in star scan. customer needs to road test with oem equipped vehicle to check speedo accuracy. speedo is much closer to correct than original tires. " i will be checking it with my gps tomorrow, and if not perfect it will go back to dealer and recieve my money back or fix it right. seems like no program to input any tire size you want, just preprogramed sizes only.

I have a superlift "truspeed" calibrator and it works great as well as being fully adjustable for any tire size. I go back to stock tires for the winter time and all you have to do it fliip the switch and your back to stock configuration. I havent looked into it to see if it works on the 06 but if the abs module is the same I think it should.

Dealer reset of revs per mile

I had my dealer set the revs per mile for my tire size per the manufacutre of the tires. BFG 35 X 12. 5 X 17 are supposed to be 598 revs per mile but that did not work. Spedo went to 75 when running 60 with the GPC. Went back several times while the tech waited and we eventually set the revs per mile at 615 and it is exactly perfect per the GPS and the cops radar sites on the side of the road.

The dealer needs to take the Other option on the controller then they can enter the exact revs per mile. Previously I had the same BFG's that were 285's and was using 630 revs per mile and it was exactly right then also.

Cost me $42. 00.

Smarty will do it! I went from my stock tires to 37X12. 50X17. I had to set the Smarty @ 35. 62" and the speedo is right on accordint to my GPS.
