i have put 255-85-16's on my 99 dually:D (stock is 215-75-15) my speedo is off big time! dealer said they can't do anything with the 99's? is there an aftermarket product out there? is the dealer full of s#!t? i need some advice before the tickets start building up!... TIA... . james

You need an electronic pulse ratio adapter. A company called Abbot makes one. Look in the links section of this website some of the folks carry them.

I've added the Abbott ERA box, here's how to do it: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22253&highlight=abbott. If you have 4 wheel antilock brakes you need to either modify the Abbott box (https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22253&highlight=abbott) or contact a vendor like Rickson for a box they sell that does not require modification. What these boxes do basically is to take the pulses generated by the coil/magnet in the rear differential and adjust their frequency to the proper one for your tire size, allowing your speedo/odometer to display correctly.

I thought that there was a post awhile back saying that the dealer could compensate for any size tire. Is that only on the new trucks? I thought it was on all of the 24v because I was going to bring mine in, but then figured I'd rather have the Abbott than the dealer reflashing my computer.

I'm using the Superlift True-Speed and it is working well. I have 4 wheel ABS and was looking for a different system than the Abbott.

Were can you buy the superlift box? How much does it or the other boxes cost?

I need to do something because 88mph in 55 zones tickets are going to get costly if I don't. :D

Thanks

Big D

Hmm, I still don't understand how any of these boxes are going to work with 4WAL if they are installed pre CAB?

Isn't the CAB going to think that the rear axle is turning faster then the fronts?
