I've asked this question once before but here it goes... .

In my 99 RAM I'm running 16x75x285's & my truck came stock with 245's... . I realize my speedo should read slow due to the taller tires, but it actually reads FAST!

Any ideas? It's approx 1. 1 miles for every mile travel or about 10% FAST??? I see no aftermarket box for adjusting the speedo installed under the hood by the previous owner...

TIA, Clay

fast speedo

Mine (is a 99) was running fast right from the factory. I mentioned this to the Dealer I got it from (Lakeville, MN Dodge/ Chysler (a 5 star stealer--terrible people)) and they said too bad but it's not 5 miles /hr off we will not fix it. I also brought it to Winona (MN) Chrysler (5 star dealer) and they hit a little switch somewhere that changed the reading. They said it came from the factory in the wrong setting, it's still slightly fast (at reading 74) i am doing 75. But way better than what it was.

] Sorry, I didn't ask them where the switch was.
