Speedo problems

I did a search on speedo problems nad I need some input.



I'm not sure if any one has described my problem exactly.



My speedo jumps around all over the place. The Odometer works fine. the Speedo just goes nuts.

the speedo reads fast, not at all, seems to work every once in a great while. really perplexing.



I need a service manual and wiring diagram bad.

Mark,



A quick and easy place to start your troubleshooting is to grease the speed sensor drive... There is a grease fitting on the side of the drive just before the right-angle bend.



My speedo was flipping out similar to how you described yours... I have not had any problems after greasing.



This may not be your problem but its a quick and cheap check before you have to break out your multimeter and your wallet.



There was a thread on this subject a week or two ago... I don't know if it is still up but if you can find it there were some good ideas there as well.
