Everyone,

I would like to know how much the dealerships are charging for the re-calibration. My dealer is telling me $70. 00. Sounds crazy for two minutes work! Thanks.

Mine said the same thing-- One hour shop time for a 5 minute job

It will have to wait until a recall brings me to back to the ealer.

sounds like me asking mine how much to put on the hood air deflector and told about 70 bucks..... for four freaking fasteners!!!!!

Put a little more $$ with that and buy yourself a GPS that will give you your correct speed. Then you'll automatically get an "extended warrantee" because your odometer will say your truck went fewer miles than it actually did.

BTW, my speedometer with stock tires indicates about 2 mph faster than it really goes.

Half an hour charge for me, and they actually did spend 30 minutes at it.

The story is that I wanted them to do it, but didn't ask ahead of time and they were busy. I thought they'd come tell me if they were going to actually do it. Nope, they just did it without telling me. Except they didn't know the revs/mile for the tires (which I would of told them if they had just let me know they were doing it). They spent 20 minutes on the phone calling the local BFG supplier to find out. I thought it was funny. :)

My dealer did it for free.

Do they know you, or are they just nice like that?

I could see driving south a bit for a dealer like that. (for my next purchase, major service, etc) I'm down in Ann Arbor a good bit anyway so it's not a big deal.

Guys --

It should be free - I was told it falls under the "Chrysler Good Will Policy" -- . . it is even printed on my service order receipt.

Ask to speak with the service manager... .

Speedo coast ??????

What I would like to know is if the truck has less than 36,000 it is under full bumper to bumper warranty. So how can a dealer charge for the service for correcting it ???
