Speedo Recalibration in Phoenix

I am looking to recalibrate my Speedo. I have 315’s installed and would like to bring my Speedo back to an accurate level. I live in Phoenix and I called some of the local dealers around here to get a price to have this done. They wanted $90 to $150 to adjust the Speedo. I think that is crazy. From what I understand, this process only takes about 15 minutes to do. Any of you local Phoenix guys have a DRBII or a Snap-On Scanner tool. I’d rather give my money to someone from TDR than give it to the dealer. PM me if you think you can help or know a place that’s a little more reasonable. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not that it helps you a whole lot, but in Flagstaff I took mine in and they did it for free. I tipped the guy 20 bucks anyway, just cause. All they have to do is pick one of the 2 tire sizes already in the computer, or enter the rev per mile for your particular tire under pinion factor. To find out you exact rev per mile, the easiest way is to go to tirerack.com. Go to your brand, then your type, then specs, it will be at the far right of the screen.

Thanks for the reply. I wish the dealers around here were as nice as yours. They pretty much want to rape you as much as they can. I will continue to look around here tell I can find place that is a little more reasonable unless someone knows a better option. Driving to Flagstaff would kill the deal in gas alone.

$65 for nothing

My Dodge dealer -- Perkins in Colorado Springs -- charged $65 to reset the speedo and I furnished him with the revs per mile. I believe in paying for services rendered, but I thought that was a bit much. I filed it away until next time.



I'd take the prices you get here, print them off, and take them to your Dodge dealer and ask him what kind of jerk he'd like to be. A real jerk, a semi-jerk, or no jerk at all. Keep us posted on what he says and also tell him you'll include the name of his dealership where 20,000 Dodge owners can read it.

I had mine done in Superior, AZ but that is probably too far for you to drive. The guy did it for $20. 00 and then took me for a ride to verify things. He also gave me a paper verifying that it had been recalibrated.

Regular customer. The dealer's made hundreds of dollars' profit off me since I bought the truck in December 2002 (it's a 2003). I must have spent a total of $2,000 doing one thing or another. I'm not complaining. I just thought the price was a bit steep for what they did.

Are you able to talk to the tech directly or are they isolated?It will usually be better if you build a rapport with the tech

Find someone with a Smarty, or buy one; I got mine from Bob Wagner 888-225-7637. It can recal the speedo, check and display what trouble codes appear and what they mean, as well as adding a lot of power. Just for the codes, it is worth it compared to buying a DRB scan tool.
