Speedo Troubles again

I swapped out transmissions again, after reshiming the one that was originally in my 92. Shifts just fine, no more 6" of side-to-side slop in gear. the drive gear in the recently rebuilt transmission (with cracked 1-2 synchro ***'y and a crack in the case at a PTO cover bolt hole) was JB Welded on, and when I tried to break it loose, it broke. The other drive gear is stripped out, so swapping them is out of the question. So, where can I find one besides the dealer? Most transmission shops see the metal sleeve inside the gear, and say "We dont have anything like that. " As if running a plastic gear would hurt anything Is the gear from say, a gasser 727 the same? Or is it all completely different? I will have no speedo going to or from SOP, but if that is all I run into, it will be a good trip.

i took mine from a ramcharger with 4wd. i think anything you find will work, so long as it's the same size.
