Anyone within a stones through from me that has a Smarty and would be willing to calibrate my speedometer for me? I just bought my '07' and is has 315/70/17 tires on it and the speedometer runs aprox. 9% slower that my actual speed. A Smarty jr. is in my future but it may be the distant future.

Thanks

Sorry but I may be in the same situation. I just bought a 03 sight unseen by asking a few questions and forgot to ask about rear axle. It has 4. 10s and stock tires. I am looking at the 315's also and have been doing searches and reading but can't find anyone who specifically put them on a 4:1 who comment on the towing general handling. They ususlly are talking about looks or rubbing issues and I believe they have to lift their trucks some but can't establish that for certain. Basically I like my truck to run like one with 3:73 and stock tires. How close do the 315 take a 4:1 truck to that?

The enginee revs are pretty close but I have no comparison information regarding fuel milage and towing, handling and noise. I do know the truck is another 1. 5 inches higher and that is not particularly good for my trailer but I imagine I can deal with that. I just wish I had 3:73 but I say that having not towed with this truck yet but I need new tires and want to take advantage of the opportunity to get it better. Haven't had a chance to check fuel milage yet, the speedometer quit the day I got the truck, it is fixed just now.

Thanks for any comments.

I'm not sure i can help you as my truck has 3:73 gears. Is your truck a drw? if so I don't think the 315's will fit on the rear unless you space them out. As for my truck, the tires run great, no noise or wandering. As to whether you will be closer to the 3:73 by using them someone with more math than me will have to figure that out.

Hope this helps some. lol
