I just switched out the ring and pinion in a 98' 2500 2wd. Out with the 4. 10 and in with the 3. 55. Can anyone tell me how to correct my speedometer. Im not sure if it even has a computer to reprogram or if I can replace the gear in the trans. Thanks in advance for any help. Im a newby.

I'm thinking you can do with a driver gear change in the transmission speed sensor. This old brain is slow tonight, but I think you want to go with a couple fewer teeth, but not sure.

'98 and up are fully electronic. The speed signal is taken from the ABS sensor in the rear diff. The dealer can calibrate it or you can buy a box. I personally have the Super Lift Tru-Speed since I run larger than stock tires. This box has a toggle switch so you can run two different tire sizes with the flip of a switch. I have had it for a long time now and had no problems. I do have two tire sizes so it has come in really handy.
