I was driving to work the other morning (at the ungodly hour of 1:00am) when I hit a bump along I-25. It's a particularly rough section just past a bridge. When I hit the bump, both the tach and the speedo dropped to 0 and then popped back to normal after a second or two. Haven't seen it since, even driving over the same section. Probably a loose connector or wire somewhere.

Did your tach quit, too?

Since this is a DCX product, I'm guessing it's the connecter on the back of the dash cluster.

Jeep use to or may still have problems with this and the fix was to pull the plug for the harness and bend the pins slightly for plug to make better contact.

I could be wrong but I'm thinking that Dodge and Jeep have to share alot of parts like connectors to keep the pricing down.

A couple months ago I posted about how my temp gauge quit working. Turns out there was a short in the instrument cluster. They had to replace the whole cluster, (speedo, tach, etc)

Service advisor did say that this was not the first one they had done either.
