You know I have really missed these post, the last few years I had to turn my attentions elsewhere, but hopefully I can now have the time to play around on here.
I have to agree, I hate anything used! I can fully understand why people buy used things, but I can't bring myself to do it. I would just rather save up a little longer then buy it used. mainly I feel like other just would't take care of things like I would, Sounds silly to some I would imagine, but thats me.
I have also longed for a nice shop/garage. And just recently (yesterday they poured the floor) I took steps to get myself that shop i always wanted. It is 64' x 40' and has 12' tall ceilings. Two overhead doors, one 11x10 and the other 11x16. I also made a 12' wide porch/overhang area around the front and right side, That area gets poured next monday if all goes as planed. I decided to go with 1 2-post 10k lbs lift and 1 4-post 7k lbs lift. The four poster will be used mainly for a 1933 ford I intend to rebuild. I chose Bend Pack as the lift manufacturer, I feel them and Rotary Lift are the two main players, with quality and safety in-mind. Any one else have experience with Bend Pack?
I am lucky, I get to buy all new equipment for the shop, so any suggestions would be appeciated. I have not purchased anything as of now, but with the floor being poured, the time is coming quickly. For now I will concentrate on the electric. I am going to run everything in conduit, and look forward to the task. The wire itself is about $2100. 00, and the material another $2200. 00.
I already have several fabrication tools, like welders and plasma cutters, etc. But one tool I have always wanted and I am getting is a IronWorker, a 45-Ton model with a HD break.
