Does anyone know where Ican get spindle nuts for a 95 2wd 3500 as the local dealer wants $25+ each for them. looked through search forums could not findany info :)

Boy the price has gone up or your dealer is REALLY gouging you (as opposed to the normal dealer gouging). I paid $11 at my dealer a few yrs ago when I found the nut had been cross-threaded at the factory and the dealer wouldn't fix it under warranty. (I was a couple thousand miles past 36k). I don't recommend that dealer to anyone anymore. Check with mopar4less. I doubt if you will find any after market, it is a strange size and a strange thread.

I just went through this myself. I found the nuts at NAPA, and also don't forget to get new wedges also. The wedge is the little metal thingy that goes in the keyway and digs into the nylon part of the nut. Don't remember exactly, but I think the nuts cost about $11 each like GAmes said. I bought a socket (QT1009) for the nut from http://www.quad4x4.com/Dodge%20Tools.htm. Great service from them. The socket I bought at NAPA did not fit correctly and rounded out right away. The socket needs to be for rounded hex, not just a normal 2-9/16". Just say no to dealer prices. :)

nuts

Well I had to relent and get nuts from dealer @$27-50 each. Napa only had them for 4x4and mine is 2w/d. The nut reminds me of what we used to call castle nuts in Ireland . I think a good machine shop could make them. Thanks for the help :-{}

Well, at least you got what you needed, rx7pat.

OK, now I'm curious, what is the difference in the rear axles between 2WD and 4WD?? I know the auto 2500's got the Dana 70 and the manuals got the 70/80 hybrid (Dana 75??:) ), and the 3500's got the Dana 80. What's up with the 2WD being different?
