I have recently purchased a new Spinner II setup for my truck. I do understand that it takes some custom fabrication work to integrate this into the trucks existing oil system. So I am hoping that there are a few people on this site that not only have one but also have some pictures and installation information or recommendations. So please feel free to respond to this post. Thanks for your time and assistance.

I have a Spinner II on my big rig and it works very well. Only problems I have had with it is the schrader valve on the air supply had to be replaced twice in 1. 7 million miles. If your Spinner II is like mine, you will need a compressed air supply plumbed to it in order for it to work properly. The air pressure makes for a forced gravity feed sending the oil back into the pan after its run through the spinner. Without it, the oil level gets up to the bottom of the rotating portion of the unit, creating drag and stopping the unit from working at all. When functioning properly, the centrifuge itself totates at nearly half the speed of a turbocharger impeller -- about 60,000 rpms --- enough to create a force of 6,000 g's on the oil, spinning out contaminants small enough to go through any other kind of filter. Even soot particles are collected in the centrifuge.

Hey, just curious as to where you got your spinnerII. I want to get the 936 with the turbo air bleed valve but none of the supposed dealers nearby are much help.

I will have to get the information for you. Unfortunately I am away from home at the moment but I will get the info ASAP. The place I ordered it from was just outside of Kansas City. Unfortunately enough, it appears as though you have to be fairly self educated on the Spinner II before you go to purchase it. If you go to the website and read about the the install and the extra parts you will need in their service bulletins you will also need to grab all the part numbers from Spinner II before you call your distributor. I think you need the turbo air bleed valve with the 936 and you may also need a wrap around frame instalation kit which is part # 72137 or it comes with a few isolators and bolts which you will have to drill through your frame to install. Bad thing about that is that Dodge highly discourages drilling and welding on these frames. Request bulletin 86. 020 with your purchase and the specific installation drawings from the distributor. Otherwise you will be in the same position as me!! =)

Main thing is, they use gravity to drain oil back to the pan. Don't have to worry about that with my Frantz. ;)

This is a 2nd gen, but should give an idea or 2. -

I dont know if the new Spinner II use gravity return because they reccomend that they are installed on the frame. In my mind I am uncertian as to how you can install the product on the frame and still be able to return the the oil with only gravity on your side. The newer ones use either pressure from the trucks air system or from the turbo.
