Had a small issue this morning, needed to avoid a snow plow and ditched the 01, I used the 03 to pull it out. Luckily less than a 1/4 mile from the house, so I had to walk back.

It took a little pulling on slick roads, but we got it out. But I guess the spinning of the tires, some sensor doesn't like. The Brake light and the ABS light is on and won't turn off. I saw some other threads regarding this but they didn't mention how it turns out? I guess they just turn off after a while and I don't need to worry?

I will pull the codes tonight if there is any.

i don't know about 4wd, but i can get the abs [or brake] light to go on in 2wd by fooling around and getting some serious wheel spin [donuts, drifting etc... ] but all i have to do is tap the brakes and the light goes out...

Goes off and stays off? Or at least till you spin out again? Mine wouldn't go off. But the truck wasn't on for 2 minutes after the light came on, I was running a little late at that point.

I don't have my '05 yet, but I know in other ABS vehicles I've driven, the light has come on in similar conditions, but after a restart or two it's gone off. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as your brakes will work fine even if the ABS doesn't. If the lights don't go off even after a few days, then I'd take it in.

The ABS computer can't make sense of a high speed differential between the front and rear wheels, so when it sees this condition, it throws a code and lights the ABS lamp. I don't know if it will self-clear on the 3rd generations or not.

Mine did the same thing when I was playing on some dirt roads (drifting, donuts, etc)

I ended up finding out I blew the fuse... thats what kicked the brake and ABS light on... New fuse = lights out

goes out until the next time i do something "stupid" then just tap the brakes to make the light go out... i think it does log a code, but it resets after a few key cycles... [but the light goes out and stays out until the next loss of traction]
