Ok, so let's forget about putting a 600 in an '03 SO. . :p What about putting in an '03 HO in an SO truck? Should bolt in, so what's different? New PCM most likely, what else?

Edit - Are the fuel pumps the same?

If I remember correctly I think the transmissions are different. If it's an early '03 you have the 47re. Also, I think the 48re's have a different amount of clutch's or something depending on whether it's behind a SO or HO. Finally, '03 (and maybe 04) SO auto's have the smaller 10. 5 rear axle.

I have an ATS 48re. I think it can handle the power. ;) I don't care about the rear axle. I'm talking about differences to make the motor run... . ie: computer, etc...

why would you want to? I'm not familiar w/ the newer engines, but traditionally, the only internal difference was higher compression... and the more power you're looking to make, the LOWER you want the compression...
