Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Split second cut out

Greetings!



Well, I'm pretty pleased with my Smarty and the new Revo programming. I've been trying all sorts of different settings and have finally settled for SW3 with T3/I2/D3. This seems to be the best so far for my application.



What I'm not sure about is that every now and then, when I start out from a stop sign/light and roll into the throttle, then WOT, it'll cut out for about a second or less. It's like the ECM shuts off/comes on with no warning. I'm not sure what the RPM is because I don't have a tachometer; but I'd guess it's somewhere around 2000-2500.



NO codes. NEW: VP44, all sensors EXCEPT for the crank and a new APPS. Running FASS 150.



It runs fine before/after the cut out. It DOESN'T do it when the stock programming is loaded back into the ECM.



Any ideas?

36 views..... No one out there has any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else at all on the second gen trucks?



I've got good grounds and all my connectors appear to be snug and free of debris.

Never experienced that, but I haven't loaded the REVO into my Smarty yet. Does the symptom show when running other softwares than the stock one?

Hmm, now that I think about it. Smarty changes when rpm's come up relative to pedal position. Perhaps the APPS (even though it's new) has a glitch in it that shows up only because of the Smarty software? Only thing I can come up with at the moment.

Does the ECM have an input for mph sensor? If so, how did you accomplish that?

Hey Trent,



It has happened in any Smarty program that I use.



It might be the APPS. Maybe I shoud try recalibrating it.



No speed sensor, so I always get the p0500 code - no biggie .



I do wonder though that since no one has seemed to have this happen to them, then maybe it's got something to do with the speed portion.
