Chrysler dealers told to shape up

I'm looking for information on Spokane, WA. and the surrounding area. We may be moving and I'd like to know about emmisions testing, taxes, crime, i. e. what's the "bad part" of town?

Do they emmissions test our trucks? Will mine pass with EDM 1. 5's?

Is there a visual inspection or just a sniffer? My jeep won't pass a visual but may pass the sniff test.

Does Washington state have an income tax?

Has anybody moved there and wished they hadn't? What do you or don't you like about the area? I plan on keeping my job, I can fly up here to work every two weeks.

Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

Lived in Spokane for 4 years and grew up about two hours from there in North Central Idaho.

No State Income tax... yet; they do emissions testing, but it may depend on the type of vehicle, so I can't honestly comment on your EDMs; they did a visual inspection of the underside of the last vehicle I tested there(it was a gasser); depends on what your definition of "bad part of town" is... some folks can tolerate more than others. Lots of nice property on 5 mile prairie to the Northwest and some to the Northeast of town. Spokane Int'l Airport is to the west of the city.

I thought there were a couple of TDR guys that lived there, so I'm suprised they haven't replied yet.

I'd move back there in a heartbeat... and I plan to once my 25 years of indentured service to the USAF is over:D.

jmeehan Spokane is a great area, I like it a lot. You oughta check out NW Bombers since there are quite a few active members in the region on that board. Every September we have a big bash known as Diesel Thunder in Spokane.
