My Wait to Start light has stopped illuminating on startup. I replaced the indicator bulb, no improvement. It seems to be somewhat random (but more often than not, does not light up). My remote-start also monitors the wire, and it is typically starting the truck immediately when triggered (assuming that means no voltage on the wire). No other issues observed starting the truck.

My lift pump still runs when the starter is bumped, grids seem to fire (voltage drops on key on). Everything seems "okay" other than the indicator light. It sounds like this symptom alone may indicate a failing ECM, but I seem to lack the other common symptoms.

Is there anything else I should be on the lookout for? I realize no-one can predict when an ECM will die.... but in past experience... is this likely to leave me stranded soon? Should I await more symptoms before sending off preemptively to a rebuilder?

Lets file this under... sometimes writing things down and reflecting on it helps solve a problem. This appears to not be an ECM issue, it is an artifact of my own work when wiring the remote-starter 15+ years ago. Apparently I used a posi-tap on the orange/black wire under the dash to get at the WTS indicator. It was making intermittent contact. Crimped on a new bullet connector and all appears well.

Troubleshooting fail on my part, I jumped to the most expensive part and didn't consider my own wiring as a culprit. Oops.
