Sport Bumper?

Will a 2001 Sport bumper fit on a 2001 NON-Sport? If you can and anyone has pics it would be greatly appreciated!

I did one of the first few conversions back when I bought the truck in '01. It really was an easy convo but I now know that it can be done relatively on the inexpensive end. You WILL have to do the whole convo tho. The grille is different on the 00+ sports and has a recess in the facia to accept the grilles deeper profile. You will need the facia, brackets , steel reinforcement , and grille frame and hood latch release. It really is a easy convert just take the time and resource your parts wisely. grab a printout of the diagram from your dealer and circle what you have , need , and will need new or used.

the sport bumper will fit by itself but you will have about an inch+ gap between the grille and the bumper.

The grille is different on the 00+ sports and has a recess in the facia to accept the grilles deeper profile.

If you are shopping for parts it is actually the 99 and newer 2nd gen Sports.

*ICEMAN* did have photos but he's since removed them but on the last page I have a photo of my conversion. Also in my gallery there are a few pics of the SLT and now SPORT



Hardest part in the project..... finding the bumper/grille!! I drove from michigan to IOWA to pick mine up. Although now its worth it! the photo is after I installed the bumper and it is now 2-tone split from the factory body line (green / silver) everything bolted right up.



Mopar makes a COMPLETE (switch to lights) fog light kit as well for 114. 00 if yours doesnt have fog lights like mine didnt.

I can get a sport bumper for a set of 275's that a put in for a friend that bought a ranch hand bumper. Dont really want to change the chrome grill to a sport. Thinkin of painting the grey plastic around my SLT bumper black and leaving the chrome. Dont like the grey bumper on a black pickup. Anyone just painted the plastic cover of the SLT and had good luck with it?
