ok gang... after many months of trying to grow cajones, the job is finished. WHAT a difference!!! dang i don't know why i didn't do this sooner. its not that hard to do and we figgered out a way to get the lights in and out with a minimum of hassle.

ALSO... ..... a MAJOR thank you to REDNECKDR!!!!!!! he supplied the directions for the re-wire and even allowed me to call him and interrupt his own project to talk me thru a couple of things. Herb... you're #1!!

anyone interested... contact me for the directions... i highly recommend this BOMB to any and all SLT owners.

rono, the difference is literally "night and day".

I have mine so that all 4 lights are on in both low and hi beam.

I'm running the stock bulbs.

Eric

I love em

Like Patriot says, "Night & Day".

Does anyone know if I can buy the little rubber gasket things from the dealer? The one that came with the Sports lights are dry-rotted.

thanks,

simon

Don't people B***h with the inside lights on. I realize that the lamp has a low beam but the design of the reflector makes it shine out instead of down. It's just a dimmer high beam.

Can someone post the address/price of the supplier for the lights. I take it, 2 -40 amp relays are needed also, and some 12 gauge wire. What is needed in the way of bulb connectors for the new 12 gauge wire. Thanks RJ

just a tip I got from someone else on this board. When I did my sport conversion a cliped off the little blue crab claws that fit around the tit on the bulb. it makes it way easier to get the socket off and there is enough friction in the pins to hold things together.

Rono, it is just like Patriot said night and day. It is difficult to discribe but imagin a bic lighter now imagine an oxy/act cutting torch, get the picture. like others said if you do night driving you will wonder why you didn't do the conversion sooner. Good luck, it's any easy job. here are some basic pics of my conversion

i don't remember where i got my lights... the headlight warehouse was back ordered and couldn't give me a ship date (i had waited like 6 weeks and they never told me about the back order). i paid about $120 for each side. the stealer quoted me like $240!!

the sockets i bought at NAPA and re-wired them myself including

new clips and 12 ga wire. the clips i got at PEPboys.

the relays are 30 amp 5 lug but get the Federal Moguls as the Bosch ones have one lug constant on.

Is it just me getting older, or...?

I share your concern, Chipstein. I'm SO tired of every thumperskate, little-ol'-lady-in-their-pontiac and pickup truck running around town with their Factory-and-otherwise 'auxilliary' driving lights glaring in my eyes. It seems that all of 'em have forgotten both common road courtesy and where the switch is on the dash. Why, just the other day, I had to show my ancient, little old mother where the high-beam switch was on her new Neon... ... again!

But that's OK, cuz when I get done with the Turbosaurus, I'll be able to permanently damage retinas at a mile! I have a few more years to go before I forget where the switches are, so YOU guys are safe! :D

Has anyone with the 4-light low beams actually done a pattern check on the inner reflectors?

i haven't yet had a problem with oncoming traffic flashing their beams at me when i'm on low beam with all four beams on.

BUT... . as i get older i do find that lights coming at me do seem brighter... ...

Anyone got a procedure for aiming these after install. I am going to find some to order. Thanks RJ

Got it.

Thanks, Thomas.

I don't think the 4 bulb setup affects other drivers too much. It seems that the sport high beam bulb shines straight ahead. It would only aggravate someone if you're at a light, or following pretty close. It's hard to explain but the drivers side headlights shine OUT and LOW and then IN and HIGH.

just my 2cents.

No, not yet. If they do a quick flick of the hi beams should adjust their additude promptly. :D

:-laf :-laf Reminds me when I had the Piaa offroad spotlights on my Dakota and wired to the high beams. People regretted it when they flashed their high beams at me. I am sure they were doing this... #@$%! #@$%! :-laf :-laf
