South Seattle RV park?

Just finished installing the new SPORT headlights: used two different heavy-duty headlight wiring kits (1-9004, 1-9007). It really improved the light out, must take in for real alignment soon, I did the garage door last night. Other thing I did was 'fix' the Fog lamps so they stay on both low and high beam. (pulled relay and installed shorting wire). I hope I accomplished two things, one big load off light switch, and two of course, more light--hope I don't burn on-coming guys too much... ... R, J. B. ;)

I did mine about 6 months back. Huge difference, aint it?

I did have one minor problem. When I'm on hi beam, and want to go to low beam, sometimes I have to momentarily shut off the lights to get the hi beams to go off. What I mean by momentarily is slightly more than a tap on the light switch.

I'm thinking I have a bad relay, but I'm too lazy to track which one it is. My setup has four of them.

I set my lights on the garage door. Theyre slightly higher than the stock ones were. That's fine for now, but when I hook up the travel trailer, I'll have to lower them. :D

PS Did you get the APC harness'?

Eric, do you have this trouble sometimes, or every time you use high beam? Your symptoms make me suspect that you have a wiring error in your high-beam circuit. It's acting as if the high-beam relay is self-latching when it is energized.

Tom, Not to change the subjet but I finally that POS APC wire harness issue to bed. Could never talk to a real person was on hold once for 45min it can be maddening. Anyway called name on CC invoice explained the situation they said no problem they'll credit my acc. FINALLYOo. Oo.

Hi, I think I used the same setup as you did. I used the coolbulbs APC harnesses. What I did was order 2 9004 harnesses and reversed the pins in the socket I used for the 9007 bulbs. I've had no problems so far (I'm knocking on wood now). As you said, it makes a huge difference. Not only in front, but also to the side of the truck. In Low-beam I have all 4 low filaments burn. In high-beam I have all 4 high filaments burn. AWESOME!!!

The harnesses were a nightmare to get though. They origionally sent me only one, charged me for 4. After complaining I was credited for 2, but still only had 1. When I finally recieved the second harness, they credited my account again for 1 harness. I ended up recieving 2, but paying for 1. Not bad, but I'd rather pay for the correct on time order.

Yes , I did the same thing. I swapped pins on one of them.

I dont think this is the problem. Funny thing is it dont do it all the time, which leads me to believe it's one of the relays.

What Simon describes sounds like what I did, swapped pins.

Fog lamps?

I know a while back someone posted how to short out relay to keep fog lamps on high and low. Someone e mail me please. Thanks.
