i was just on the dodge.com website trying to build a ram to my likes... this is hard. i want a 3500 hd 4x4 quad cab SB HO diesel 6spd sport package. it looks like all 3500's get clearence lights as standard equipment. i do not want them on my truck. i don't like them. . it seems that it will not let me have the sport package with the 3500 with the ho cummins... are these just quirks on the site or do all 3500's come with clearence lights and no sport package avalable on the quad sb 4x4 3500 ram????

It's a legal requirement. So are the rear 3 center clearance lights usually on the tailgate of a 3500. I believe the criteria is the weight of the truck - over 9,000 lbs GVWR (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

poop:(:( i guess i will have to down grade to a 2500... i don't personally like the clearence lights much, but i really hate the way the marker lights are bolted on to the tailgate:(:(

The side markers and clearence lights are a legal requirement once your vehicle is W I D E R than a given width. I beleive the criteria is 80".

Hey, you gotta put some lights on that fat butt so folks will know to get outta your way! :D

Scooby is right any vehicle wider than 80" is required to have marker lights. To the front and sides at the widest part and the three lights in the middle (ICC lights) to indicate that it is over 80".

That would explain why the 3500 srw I looked at DIDN'T have the three lights on the tailgate. I don't care for them anyway.

Ah ha! My gut feeling was width, but I went with weight because I thought the SRW had them too. Cool. I like the cab lights, but don't need the tailgate lights. That's great. The 3500 SRW must just come with cab lights for "looks".
