options

MMeier... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....

first option will be to have someone pick it up and meet them somewhere in the midwest, Omaha, Nebraska or anywhere "close"!!! I'm about 16 hours from Omaha.

Second option might be to drive across the border with my truck and trailer and fly down and drive back. I do not have a passport, so I can't fly out of canada into the U. S. (friggin terrorists)

Third option would be to drive down and pick it up.

I'm gone bowhunting till Sept 16th so I will have to finalize arrangements when I return. owner agreed

flushed

Earl... ... ... ... . I saw it on Pirate as well; you just flushed me out of the woods by posting it here!!!! I missed out on one in Idaho, but I think this one was the better deal. It has less miles, getrag and its from the original owner.

Have to figure out the tail light wiring issue.

I may have drop in on Fred when I do make it down there to pick it up. Unless I get it shipped of course.

Update

Well, made it back with the new to me 92. Fred was big help in Pheonix in figuring out the electrical issues, also changed the fluids and filters for the 2600 mile jaunt.

Pics are in the link provided by Earl kann, so no need to post any additional at this time till things change.

The truck was an original owner truck and it did have 115k. It has some performance upgrades on it, a banks 14cm wastegated turbo, different intercooler than whats on my dually. The owner said he had a bunch of banks stuff put on it when he bought it in 92. It also has an aftermarket re-usable filter; that thing must not have been cleaned in years!!!!! It took me four washings to get it reasonable. I'm not sure what filter was available back then but its blue and I only have access to K&N cleaning and oil here so that's what I used.

The truck does have some issues; electrical for one. The guy had gadgets wired in this thing, will have to have it checked out, but nearly everything electrical works.

Two after market saddle tanks on each side made out of steel that are coated with rust inside, so they'll have to come off.

I think Fred said it had 3rd gen wheels on it, if folks want to open the link and confirm I would be interested.

The frame is cracked in front of the steering box. It appears to be just in front but will have to inspect further.

Now for the good stuff... ... ... ... ... ... ... . this thing rolls coal. I don't know what the HP is but it is up there. This thing hauls. The getrag was rebuild at 85k, so it should last me for awhile.

The mileage was also phenominal (compared to my dually). It got 22-24 miles to the gallon... . can't complain, but now I have to wonder about the dually, does a getrag make that big of a difference???? Or is it the performance upgrades???

Sorry for the long post, hey Sunday night Football is over and it looks like the BoSox are advancing.

Every time I blink my eyes I miss a deal like that. Congrats, you got what looks to be a really solid truck for a great price. I think anytime a good deal is spotted on a firstgen it should be posted here. These trucks are pretty hard to find, especially in good shape.

Drive it

Matt... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... It's going to be my daily driver, so I'll be driving the crap out of it. Will have to get it rust checked for the winters though. Will try not to drive it in our slushy winters.

If you're going to get it undercoated, don't go to ziebart on mcphillips... got my silver '03 1500 done there and they got overspray everywhere!

Did you perhaps just trade your dually for a reg cab short box 83/93 on 38s?

No Ziebart

Matt... ... ... ... ... ... ... . never liked the Ziebart treatment. I've used rust check on all my old vehicles; get it done yearly and am happy with the results.

I just spoke to the owners of the 83/93 and we'll be trading pics. If it's as nice as its described and they're happy with my dually, I will probably try to swing something even up.

Were you looking at it as well?

I just sold my '93 W250 to the guy on tuesday and I saw his 83/93 and IT IS as nice as he says it is, I definitely wouldn't mind it for myself but I already have too many trucks. He was planning to go nuts on the truck he just bought from me but now he's just gonna sell it and go nuts on the dually if everything works out and he gets it... I was just talking to him on msn and he's definitely excited about it.

Featherman. small world. i was at freds when you called him for him too take a look at it. real nice guy. hope your happy with it.

AHopper... ... ... ..... you are right, he is a nice guy. I was worried about the electrical stuff on the truck as well as the filter stuff and didn't want to go to a dealer. He accomodated me late on Friday night and I knew I was cutting into his family time, but he still said to come out. Couldn't fix it at night and went back out the next day. he trouble shot the issue right away.

It made the drive home a little less stressful.

As for the truck, i'm very pleased with it.

you should have had him give you a ride in his 1st gen! really powerfull truck. well both of his are but i really like his first gen.
