Spray-in Liner

I've been wanting to get a spray-in liner, but undecided on which one for sure. Also need to come up with the extra cash, wife keeps hitting me with some unexpected bills about the time I have all my cash together to go get it done. I know one certain brand I don't want, had it on another truck an did'nt care for it at all.

Have an Arma coatings liner in my 96. Almost indestructible, but snowmobile ski's riding up on the tailgate, (many times), and a slide-in camper, kind of took their toll. If the prep work is done properly, it will last pretty much forever, and take a lot of abuse. I just got a bedrug for the new truck, yesterday. I don't plan on putting this truck through the abuse the old one has taken, though. Make sure you check the work of the shop putting it in. Do they just spray over the hardware, or remove it? How thick is it sprayed? What kind of warranty? etc

I have a Line-X and love it. Tough coating and looks great. But I agree with what Jim said above. I have seen poor Line-X jobs and great Rhinos, so I think it really comes down to the guy that does the job, more than the material. Look at the shops work that will do yours, and then decide who gets the job. And yeah, it looks much better with the hardware removed and replaced. Also, make sure they spray up under the rails, too. Another place on our Dodges, is the plate for the latch cover in the tailgate. You want that done separately, so if you ever have to remove it, you don't have to cut the lining loose.

I've got a Permatech spray in liner. This is my second truck with Permatech and I really like it. It's a smoother texture than Line-X and is non-slip to a fault - I can't hardly slide anything in the bed to adjust the load, always have to lift and place. It washes easy with a hose or power washer. Check your local shops and what their warranty is. Some are lifetime, which Permatech is, some are national, some are kinda local like Speedliner. Good luck.

Liner

I've got a Rhino spray liner in my truck know and also had one on my last truck. Both have been great liner. My last truck was a black liner and faded in the sun. My new one is a color matching liner and is a year old and still looking good. I've also hear that Line X makes a good liner.

I also have the permatech bed liner and love it. But like others have said you need to watch the workmanship and the warrantees that come with it. Check out each shop and ask around for references. Then go with the majority of happy customers. Have fun and enjoy your bed liner.

I have seen a lot of trucks with spray in liners that faded and had that chalky look. Has anyone had one that didn't fade?

Line-X

I have a Line-X and have since new (11/00). Slightly faded (not much), but I have definitely used the crap outta mine haulin' rock, gravel, lumber, power tools, buckets of tools, pallets of shingles, etc. , etc. , etc.

When they sprayed mine, I had them do up under the sidewalls completely. Mine is no thicker on the side where visible, then up under the top rail. I recommend getting the "over the rail" version to protect the top of you bedrails and the top of your tailgate, too!

Anyway, just my $. 02 worth. Definitely check out each installer individually and pick the liner you feel best suits your needs/desires and then find a good shop to do it the way YOU want it done. Best of luck!

I had a Rhino liner installed when the truck was about 4 weeks old. (bought new Memorial day 04) I opted for the over the rail and tailgate, and I'm very happy. They removed the tie down hooks, drilled big drain holes in the front of the bed, and also removed the tailgate access panel and coated it seperately. So far it's doing great, got it in plain black, which looks great on the silver truck with black trim. With a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, warping, splitting etc. . I figured it would be much nicer than a drop in liner and prolong the life of the bed.

04. 5 2500 Q/C 4X4 325/600 48RE 4:10 anti spin, tow, plow, SLT 2UG aluminum wheels, body side moldings, mopar mud gaurds, wheel liners, skid plates, tow hooks, Garmin GPS and of course Rhino Liner! Special ordered and worth the wait!!

bought the truck used w/bed liner in it. A high quality job, it is seven years old. Has a very grainy texture to it and indestructable unless you start chipping at it. I like it because of the following:

1) grain texture stops things from sliding around

2) cooler to the touch: even though it is black, it is cooler than the white fenders in 115 degree sun. Don't know why, just is.

3) easy to clean..... spray wash knocks everything off and it looks as sharp as new

4) with the spray over the fender tops and down about 1/2 inch, it protects the fenders from wear and tear.

As I said, the truck is 7 years old and the liner shows lots of abuse. None of it ever went thru to the bed.

Love it... ... .....
