Spray in Bedliner- new brand? Super-liner

Time to recycle and old topic one more time. I saved the money for the Linex liner I wanted and was planning to get it next week. I was running errands and saw a bodyshop selling a similar product called Super-liner. I think it is the same as the do-it-yourself brand EZ-liner but they prep and spray for you.

Looks the same as Linex and $100 less.

Has anyone heard of the stuff? I am leaning toward the Linex still, due to the reputation, but I have until Tuesday to change my mind.

Fast recommendations greatly appreciated.

We got our 2001 spray-in bedliner done through our salesman Larry at the Moss Bros Dodge. It's kind of a knock off brand called TST near Riverside, CA and it reminded me of samples of Linex that I have seen in the past. It feels sort of like sandpaper which kept an icechest from sliding around while the same icechest in my friends Rhinolined trucks slide around. It has a lifetime warranty and looks really sharp. The best part of all, we got it for $200 less then quotes I've had on my truck. We had them spray over the rails and it ended up costing alot less then 2 of my friends paid to have a Rhinoliner put in on their shortbed Chevy's under the rail. When Larry told us how much he could get it done for I thought for sure he made a mistake, but the price he gave us was the price we paid. I know some folks took alot of consideration into choosing which liner they liked best for whatever reason, but for us it was the right price that made the decision easy.

The only thing I would look at is warranty (only as good as the company) and make sure it is sprayed on hot. Arma Coating and Speedy-Liner are some more choices over the LineX.

I talked to a local Rhino Liner guy yesterday about re-spraying my bed and rails. Everything sounded good until I asked about spraying my rocker panels in the same red color. I told me that after a few years that the spray-on stuff would start to chalk up on me. Meaning the coating would start to get a while film on it. I asked about the bed and he said it would do the same thing. Just make sure whatever brand you go with that they warranty against fading and chalking. That's why I've got to get the bed re-done. Looks bad after only 6 years. Good luck with finding a good liner. Post an update to let us know how it went.

Thanks for the input.

There is a Linex dealer in town ant the Super-liner place. Nearest Rhino is 50 miles and they said I would have to spend the day. That leaves Linex with a lifetime warrenty and Super-liner with 7 years. I didn't specifically ask what was included in the warrenty though. I'll swing by and ask for more details.

I've got a Rhino in mine and I've had no problems with it. Contrary to other posts, I've had no problem with coolers or boxes (or anything) sliding forward in mine. Does cost a little more, but not so much that it made me think twice.

An important thing to consider is the experience level of the company doing the spraying. Do they use quality materials? My Rhino guys use some special tape to get the sharp edges. They said it wasn't just regular masking tape or whatever. They could've been pulling my leg, but I do know that the edges are all straight and look fine.

Eric, that special tape has a thin wire embedded on one edge and it acts as a cutter when the tape is peeled off. That's how they get a crisp, clean line.

I've got Rhino in mine and looked hard at Linex before I bought. The biggest difference I saw between Rhino and Linex is the Rhino is more "cushy" so it seems to have more dent protection. The Linex seems "harder" but is more "abrasive" feeling so it makes sense that certain things would slide less than in a Rhino bed.

I'm very happy with my Rhino, but think they're both excellent products.

I've used the Duplicolor on my quad racks. It's not durable enough in my book for a pickup bed. You can cut it with your finger nail.

I used the Herculiner for my rocker panels.
It is as close as you can get to the two part
spray applied coatings. Our company is currently setting up for ArmorThane process for our aluminum cases. I will know more about the process after the training and some experience.

There is another new liner called Alpha Liner installed by American Bed Liners in Cerritos. This guy was the first in SoCal. to do LineX but went independent with what he claims is a better product. It has a lifetime warranty and contains 40% polyurea (I think that is what it was called) compared to Line-X's 15%. He said this translates to a more durable surface and fades a lot less. I'm trying it this weekend - the stuff I've seen looks great! (Not cheap - though... . the good stuff never is!)

I am NOT happy with my Rhino Lining. To make a long story short, the Rhino Lining dealer barely applied 1/16th on an inch of the lining to my truck bed (3 trips to his shop and 2 applications). Rhino's advertising say's they are 1/4" thick. I've contacted Rhino Linings directly, and they have not been any help at all in resolving the lack of lining applied to my truck. Decision, ... finally

I decided to go with the linex afterall and it is rescheduled for this friday am.

Ultimately I based my decision on warranty and availability. Linex warranty is longer and they have dealers all over. The Super-liner looked the same, but they have fewer dealers and a shorter warrenty.

Since I am in the military I will probably move 3-5 times while I own this truck and IF my liner needs a repair I want a dealer nearby.
