Sprayed liners

Ok guys its time for a bed liner, should I go with the usual plastic slide in kind or the spray on. All my trucks in the past have had plastic liners with their usual pros and cons, does the spray on kind hold up to landfill runs etc, any problems with peeling or tearing over time? thanks.

I am skeptical of the spray on's Andy...
They look awesome when new, but what will it be like after I beat the Hell out of it for 15 years?? Its very permanent. .
I went with a plastic slide (under rail) in with friction matl. sprayed on it. . (lot's better than the slick bare units)
It's not quite as handsome, but very functional... Like the price too ($139)
It leaves me more $ to BOMB with!!!! #ad

Andy -

I would highly recommend the spray-in type bedliner. If you're worried about what it'll look like after 15 years, don't - you can just get it touched up. The dealer I went through said that he put 6-8 coats to achieve the correct thickness, and he also said that if it ever starts to look shabby, he would spray another coat over the top.

The drop-in type have a tendency to wear through the paint and once moisture gets in there (and it will), it'll start to rust.

Sure the spray-in costs more, but how much is another sandblast/paint job?

For more information, there are numerous posts on this topic - just look in the archives.

I'm with Greg on this one... I like the looks and all of the spray ins too but wonder how they'll hold up under age. Simply can't pull it out when it starts to look bad. I have a friend who's in the roofing business and he's torn up is spray in liner so many
times, then at $50-75 bucks per repair,he's almost paid for another spray in. My drop in liner was only $139 bucks and it already had anti-skid stuff coated on the bottom. But it's up to what you like.

I have the Rhino sprayed in, last truck had it for 3 years also, and love it. About 4 times a year I put a load of junk in the bed ,go to the dump and drag it out. I'm not wanting to tear the spray in ,so I have a plastic set in liner for those few days. Just set in on top of the spray in. Works great.
A rubber mat would work also. The spray in can be ripped or torn with a heavy sharp item dragged over it.

We have several trucks in our home construction co'mpany;some have bedliners butt more have Rhino-lining" sprayed in type.
Most of the division heads have the Rhino and the others who do the real hauling work have bed-liners.
I haul roof tile and occasionally have to remove scrap tiles from two-story roofs. When I'm throwing pieces down to my partner some miss and hit the bottom of the bed of my 3500. No problem because the bedliner absorbs the impact. The 'Rhino-type sprayed lined beds ghet major dented big-time, but still look nice except for the big dents in the bed. The 'bed-liner' trucks just look nice with no dents.

I had a slide in bed liner over the rail It almost took all the paint off my truck. I got a Rhino spray in . I love it. The Rhino would be hard to beat. It is black over the rail on a moss green truck. It looks great drove it home about a hour after job. Also got a free Rhino Cap. Cost 400. 00 over the rail.
