I want to do a spray in liner BLACK and also put it on the bottom half down both sides above my running boards, Does UV rays from the sun fade these ?

spray on liners

WhitMore! I have a Linex bed liner looks really good and

very deep material. When I had it applied dealer said it

would start fading in about 2-3yrs probably.

Hope this helps. :D OL Ratlr

I've got the Line-X in the bed and I've found that when it gets dull, a good scrubbing with simple green and a scrub brush does wonders for the looks. ;)

Perma-Tech, the brand of sprayed-on liner we sell at Black Mountain Diesel, is the only one in the industry to offer full UV protection through the entire thickness of the bedliner. The chemicals for that are blended in. The other brands only offer a spray on top coat at extra cost.

perma tech eh

thanks Briar , when can I get an appointment , OH NO your along way from me :{ I'd have ya do it in a minute if we were closer... ... ... ... ..... Kevin

I had my new truck rhinolined the first week I got it. It's lost the glossy look it once had, but I heard from someone that they coated it with some sort of thompsons water seal or a similar product it helps keep it from fading. Haven't looked into it yet, maybe someone else has tried or heard if this works?

I had a Linex liner put in my truck 2 years ago, it has been great except it did fade (black). Early this summer, I went back to the Linex dealer and had him spray a new product they have on it that gives it UV protection. It made it look brand new and has not faded a bit. It was not expensive at all and was well worth it, looks great.

I have the duplicote roll on bed liner(black). It has been in for about a month and it is starting to turn gray from the sun and peeling in a couple of spots. I really do not recomd this stuff at all. I am looking for some new options now. .

Is that the Duplicolor stuff available from Walmart? I was thinking of getting this stuff to use on the bottom edge of my camper where it has corroded. If it's the same, I better look for something else.

Thanks,

Blake

Scorpion liners. Guaranteed not to fade.

I just had mine done and they mixed in the actual paint for my truck. I doesn't match exactly but it is pretty close. The guy who owns the shop where it was done said that the 5 gallons it takes for a truck bed cost 2-3 times more than the rhino and linex mixes. It was about 525 for an over the rail liner.

Forget the DupliColor junk; it cracks, chips, and peels and is NOT flexible! Wasted money and time. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, ty the other stuff with the bits of recycled tires in it. Herculiner, I believe.

I have black Rhino Liner sprayed in the bed of my 99. It's 3 years old and has not faded. It's very thick, approximately 3/16"... I blasted into it with my circular saw on accident and have a 1/8" deep gash in it, but not through... .

... . And it's guaranteed for life.

I have the Line-X and I'm very happy with it. It has faded some but not any more than the black plastic trim pieces on the truck.

Whitmore,

I agree with Briar Hopper. Go with the Perma-Liner . I've been looking into this for some time now, and they are the only ones that I have found that address the UV problem from the start. The problem that I see with the sealant idea, is as you drag things in and out of your bed a few times, there goes the sealer.

They also seem to have the best prices. The one in Denver quoted $398. 00 for a short bed. They also have the oh so needed glow in the dark option.

There is also a dealer in Montana. Sorry, I forgot where Shoshoni is, so I don't know which is closer.

Also, you do it your self types need to read this: Hootus thread :--) :{ :-laf

Thanks fast3er, I had forgotten about that!

You're more likely to get it on your shoes or pants, unless of course you live in a nudist colony. If so, I recommend professional application... .

Rhino lining FADES big time!!  My bed was exposed only for a month or so before the Tonn. cover was installed. I am not impressed with it's scratch resistance either. :(
