In TDR issue 54, page 158 Mr. Andy Redmond writes about installing a Road Armor bumper and new sprigs to counter the weight of the new bumper. He states that the old spring numbers were 52121621AA and he replaced them with part number 52121623AA. This is my truck setup perfectly except I have a Warn 12K on the front also. I have lost 2. 75 inches of lift with the addition of the Road Armor and Warn.

Who is using these springs (52121623AA) and what are your comments? Would I be better off having custom springs made for my truck?

Can someone tell me the difference in spring rate and how much lost suspension I will recover using these springs.

Michael

I don't know about the stock spring number your refering to, but if you want a aftermarket coil (if you want to go that route) then get in touch w/ Sean Lorenz. Lorenz Suspension. He has a HD coil w/ 23% rate for front end weight (snow plows, wenches, etc. . ). Heres a link. Coils

The Lorenz coils are made by National Spring Co. I found this out because I called National Spring to inquire about making me a set of coils for the front end and they told me that they now work with and manufacture coils for Sean. They gave me his number and address and told me to call him.

There is also a company called "Coil Spring Specialties" (632 W. Bertrand

St. Mary's, KS 66536, (785) 437-2025) what will wind a pair of coils for about half the price of Lorenz. That is the price they quoted me. Exact price PM me so we do not get into trouble.

Still the OEM part numbers are again about half the price of Coil Springs Specialties, so 2/3rd more ecomocial than Lorenz coils. About the same prices a D25s if you went that route.

I have to fix my front end sag and I am looking for options. I understand that D25s have the habit of sagging a few years in to the job and I want to do this project once so I can move on to new toys.

I have given my LEAF design, (not coil design) to National and they now produce our Dual Purpose springs. We have other manufactures that run our coil designs.

I highly doubt you can get a custom coil spring for half of what we charge for our HD coils, but more power to you if you can get it out the door with the right spring rate the first time around. I think I can speak for all of the high end suspension company by saying there is alot of time in testing spring rates and valving to get the ride we're looking for.

I replaced the factory springs(#52113985) on my 06 QC 4x4 LB with factorty spring part #52113988 i believe these are for the 2007 cab & chassie trucks with the snow plow package it raised the front about 1. 5 inches i have no winch or bumper but a co worker did the same on his 06 3500 QC dullie 4X4 he has a road armour bumper & warn 16k winch & it raised it about 1 inch basically bringing it back to stock height before add ons the cost for the new springs through Dodge is around 130 each if i remember right. Note the 1ton dullie had the same front springs as my 2500. I know the mega cab has diffrent front springs than non megas but i think i read where the 988s would fit

To everyone I wish to apologize to Sean Lorenz and the employees of Lorenz Industries for the unintentional misrepresentation of the facts as I knew them at the time.

I called National Spring and told them I was interested in a set of front coils for my truck. They gave me Lorenz Industries phone number and told me to call Sean, hence my comment.

I want the best product I can buy, like anyone else. I need to level my truck and ride myself of the front rake that I have now with the addition of the Road Armor Bumper and Warn winch. I am suffering from a 2. 75 inch deficient up front.

I apologize to Sean and his fine people.
