Brady Had No Problem With Technical Questions

Now that its all done, I am having code 602 (had this since BDPP) and 234, boost limit exceeded. I have cleared this, but it keep recurring. Also, the oil drain line where it plugs into the block is leaking. I have tried to reseat this to no avail. I will pull it out again and make sure the grommet is seated and if it still doesnt seal, I will order a new one.

All in all, I am happy. I just need to get rid of the downloader and get a TST with the twins program so I can beef up the bottom end, as right now, there is lag waiting for crazy larry to come on. Also, the TC just wont handle the power at highway speeds, so that is my next step.

Big thanks to Brady and the guys at II (although they gave me a t shirt instead of the hoodie... :( )

I will agree on the Manifold bolts and the downpipe with the manuals is a 100% bolt on. As for the oil leaking I would pull out the drain tube and check the o-ring, it could have been damaged with your install, (I think I had to change mine)? Do you still have the adj. wastegate elbow in? if so what are you seeing for boost #'s?

Keep the Downloader and run it on 90hp. The TST stack with the downloader is a must.

The TST by itself even with the twins program takes a bit to get going.

I am going to pull the tube out tuesday when I get back to the shop. I will put the performance program in and see how that feels. Not sure what you mean by adj wastegate elbow. So far, I have seen as high as 48 psi but that is tough to get bc the poor old 48re just doesnt want to lock up under the duress.

Its the little brass elbow that sends boost to your wastegate to open it up.

The one from II is somewhat adjustable being that there is a set screw that can be adjusted.

Some have (myself) removed the elbow and installed a full flow OEM type brass elbow.

You need to stack a TST with the downloader on 90hp and you should see about 60psi with the restrictive elbow.

With just a 90hp download and no TST, 40psi sounds about right.

transmission mods first, THEN a TST with the twins program.

NO WAY!! I want the story about how the stock transmission had every clutch pack fused together into one long shaft from tc to output. :-laf

So do you like the turbo??

can I stack the bddl with an edge hot juice???? Is the bddl a pressure box?

I think once I can actually use the power, I will love it. It's frustrating right now not being able to fully use the new toy. Looks like this week I'll have to figure out the best deal on a transmission, esp since I need to drive to Texas and pick up a car that I bought and paid for 2 months ago. That ought to be the litmus test on gas mileage and EGTs with the 66 vs stock.

hasselbach,

I did stack the HOT Juice with the BD Triple Dog with Crazy Larry for about a week. I could run the HOT Juice up to level 3 with the Crazy Larry loaded. Low end still weak, but mid to upper range was very good SOTP. I did this while waiting for my new TST(w/twins) to arrive. I did not have a chance to dyno or race that combo, so dont how good it really was.

As of Friday on the dyno(522/930) I am running a triple stack. For optimum power and at the track yesterday I ran TST(twins) 7/7, BDDL Performance program loaded and EZ on level 2. This is about all I can throw at the injection pump without codes and too much fall off at the end of 1/4. The SPS66 wastegate is at 55psi now and I hear it open most of the way down the 1/4. Adding the EZ helped the low end a lot and added about 25rwhp on the dyno.

BTW new low at time trials yesterday 13. 27s @ 101. Valve cover has not been off the truck, bolt ons, plug ins and downloads only. Of course I have a TC/Trans all billet racing build so I dont worry about that issue.

Yeah, I used the end plug provided. Are you saying it should hit 50psi even on a less powerful download? Could the TC be slipping THAT badly that its not allowing full application?

FAST4DR

My experience with the BDDL downloader programs, including Crazy Larry is just don't fuel enough to hit the wastegate on mine. I think the most I saw with Crazy Larry alone was about 46psi and 40psi on Performance program seems about right to me also.

Fast 4dr

I am running the Crazy Larry program too + a fuel box with an HTB2 but the biggest step for me was doing the trans. I gained a full second in the 1/4 when I upgraded from stock . Check these guys out while deciding which trans to go with. All they build are Chrysler trannys they are racers, and the owner has and 05 running low 13's. They have figured out things on the 48re's that the others haven't yet. http://www.htstransmissions.com My truck is the red one on the web site.

Thanks for the info. I will call them monday. My goal is to hit low 13s in the 1/4, which should be enough to "surprise" (**** off) many street cars. I've got a thing for sleepers and the truck, then, will fit in nicely with my 600+hp Civic project (GT35R looks small compared to the 66).

Wow you have a 600hp civic? Yikes, I hope I don't try to pick on that ricer. Low 13's eh, did you make some calls on a transmission yet? :D

But take your time on that transmission I think the stocker still has alot of life left. :-laf

Definately keep us posted!!

Well, no on the 600hp civic as of yet. Its in the works. Honestly, that hp would not be usable on the street. I'll set low boost up at about 14lbs which should get me about 425-450 to the wheels. Anything over that is overkill, unless you are building an all out drag car - this is full interior daily driver.

I checked out those guys' website and will call them and see what's up.
