Just thought I'd mention I finally installed a Spyntec Tec kit. Should have done it 300,000 miles ago. The job went well. Took about 4 hours. The kit is very well made, and contains quality parts. The best part is my 72 mph vibration is gone. I'm looking forward to having 2wd low for backing up while towing my GN.

I would have done this on my '09 years ago except for the fact I don't have full faith in the knob on the dash... I've always had a fear of it engaging the transfercase at interstate speed! 78k on her now and no issues so far!!

Just one question... When did people feel the need to twist a knob to feel 99% sure instead of grabbing a lever and feeling 100%??? And another thing... Stereo controls on the steering wheel??? #@$%! Pure laziness IMHO!!

Nevermind!! I found the answer while spending 20 minutes of my life looking for the TV remote!! :-laf:-laf

Mikey - I have to agree with you on the 4wd lever - hate turning a knob.
My truck doesn't have the steering wheel stereo adjustment but our Grand Cherokee does and I love it. Don't have to take my hands off the wheel to fiddle with the radio. To me it's more safety and convenience than pure laziness.

I'm not qualified to post pics. I'm going to try a drywall flycutter for the center hole

A 4-1/4" hole saw should do the trick. The plastic nub in the center of the inside of the cap can be removed and used as a pilot hole. Drill from the inside out. Then, use the hole saw from the outside in. It would be worthwhile to have a drill press and a helper.

One of my favorite modifications. I have the Dynatrac and love it. I too had high speed vibrations from the front drive line but no more. Not usually traveling 70MPH with 4wd engaged. I really enjoy being able to back my trailers with 4lo selected on my G56, so much easier.

I ended up using the adj drywall cutter. Not the best job but good enough for a 365,000 mile work truck. Looks good from 20 ft.

I've not been around like I usually am, Running around! I would have offered to cut them on my lathe if you wanted to mail them. The job is done though.

I might be in need of your lathe services one of these days Wayne. If I can convince the DW the truck would benefit from a $1500 upgrade.

Hey Mikey!! So my black friend says, "I feel you, bro!" Since my sig truck did that at 45-50 mph, I pull the fuse. If I had known that would happen, I still would have bought my Dyna Locks. In potential 4wd situations, when I lock in the hubs, I stick in the fuse. Doesn't take a minute. Mark

I used a STEEL point compass and drew my circle. Put the hub cap on a drill press and went all around the compass line and drilled. Popped out the center and took a Dremel tool and at low speed, smoothed out the hole to fit.

Easy to cut center hole for the Spyntech - - -Just re-verse the drill bit after you drill the center hole, the circle cutter won't walk around and make a mess of the main hole.

Here are a couple of pics of my Spyntec's installed with the factory center caps. I drilled a pilot hole from the inside out and then a hole saw, slowly from the outside with someone holding the center cap. It worked great and smooth.

I'm on the fence. It looks better but the bearings are closer together. Not as close as the unit bearing but closer than the hubs on my 92.

I think Dynatrac shares that same bearing gap. My friend bought one of the original Dynaloc systems and has beat the holy crap out of his 10,800# truck in Baja. He had the bearings repacked after 40K and they looked like new.
