sqeek that won't quit

I got an 06 quad cab and the 4x4 shifter is sqeeking and driving me up a wall. #@$%! I have took it in 3 times and have had no luck in getting it fixed is any one else haveing this problem if so did you get it fixed and how so?

yeah i think quite a few of us have had this problem. I pulled the boot up and sprayed it with pb blast or something like that. Havent had the squeek in 57k.

I use to have a bad squeek and thought it was the dash area and it was the steering shaft linkage or what ever. I opened the hood and sprayed some lube on it and its gone.

Mine only did it the first winter and then went away on its own. I did nothing.
