Ok, I know that the squeaking when I turn the engine off is because of the motor stoping faster than the belt. My question is why does my truck squeak sometimes and not others? It seems like it doesn't squeak after it has been warmed up. Does this mean I need a new belt or is this just something that differs with every truck?

I have seen this topic in the past it might be the fan clutch which is affected by heat. Just my 2 cents for what its worth. Now the experts can chime in and correct me. Best of luck.

The chirp usually happens when the engine is warm and the fan clutch is engaging. It's normal, but I was getting annoyed, so I bought the Gatorbelt from Goodyear. Problem solved.
