Hey guys. Just ran into my first problem. I have a squeaking sound coming from the drivers front of my truck. I'm unsure if its in the suspension or the engine. I can hear it with windows rolled up, radio off and cruising at anywhere from 25-50mph. Seems to go away some when I take my foot off the gas pedal and almost entirely disappear when I get on the brakes. Just started making this sound yesterday, but now it's driving me nuts. Anyone else with similar problems come up with a fix?? I really don't want to take her in to the dealership but this sound is not good. HELP!!!!

btw- I only have 2300miles on the odo

Check your serpentine belt. Several of us on here and on DTR (about a dozen by my unscientific count) have had our belts shred with only a few thousand miles.

Mine went at 5400 miles with no warning. Dealers for most of us had no explanation except for "bad belt".

Anyway, check it out.

Ok guys. Belt looks ok, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. Anyway, it rained quite abit yesterday while I was driving and now the sound is completely gone. Which worries me more than ever. What the heck is going on? What were the symptoms of this belt problem exactly? I'm going on a road trip in a few weeks with the wife and I don't need any problems (who does!!). Thanks again.

I have not had any problems with my 2003, but on my 2nd Gen 2000 3/4 ton, I had a squeak that drove me crazy: it was the throttle linkage in front of the firewall.

It dried up around here and the squeak came back. Rained again and it went away. It's dry now so i used a super lube spray on most of the bushings in the front suspension. I'll see what happens next. If this is the only problem I ever have with this truck..... :D I'll be fine.

If you apply the brakes and it stops, it make be brakes. Mine squeel a little when I apply them.

I get a squeak from the transfer case shifter also. It will go away when it is raining and comes back when it dries up. Moving the shifter in and out of 4WD helps too. Am going to get underneath and see if there is any interference.
